It will be an exciting new year come January 2020! I have been trying out a lot of new things over the last couple of months in an effort to provide an improved experience for you and increased health and results for your hair.. I am looking forward to introducing you all to the new things I have learned and discovered to better the Alter Ego Salon impression. Below you will find a list with descriptions of the improvements being made for 2020.

Sew-in Maintenance:

To better cleanse your natural hair and scalp under your sew-ins, your maintenance appointments will now include an apple cider vinegar + tea tree or peppermint rinse before your shampoo. The ACV is to better remove dirt and oil build up at the scalp and on the braided hair; the peppermint or tea tree helps stimulate blood flow to the scalp help with growth but will also rid you of the scent from the ACV. During the shampoo, a scalp massager/soother will be used to reach the scalp better to provide an improved cleanse. A new shampoo and conditioner will also be used on all extensions, one that is specially formulated to maintain the hair but is also suitable for your hair underneath. In addition, before going under the dryer your natural hair and scalp will be moisturized using the serum from my new ALTERED Hair Therapy product line!

Scalp Care add-on services

Add this regimen to almost any service to aid in the health and maintenance of those of you who have an ongoing scalp concerns.. This new specialized shampoo¹ and conditioner¹ will be used along with an apple cider vinegar rinse (to help balance the pH levels of your scalp) to help treat scalp issues such as excessive dryness and build up due to Seborrheic Dermatitis. While this condition can be persistent, the goal is to get ahead of it and at the very least reduce the symptoms. With each service, I will pay close attention to see how your regimen can be customized for your needs. Here is a little more info. on this chronic skin condition. Additionally, clients with scalp concerns will need to be shampooed and rinsed using lukewarm water as the excessively warm/hot water proves to be counterproductive to treating the dryness.

Strengthening OLAPLEX Treatment
$varies depending on service and usage

  Olaplex treatments will be added to ALL chemical services (color & relaxers, with few exceptions). The purpose of the Olaplex system is to strengthen hair as a stand alone treatment as well as an additive to chemical services to dramatically assist in warding off damage. This treatment can be performed on any hair type, natural, relaxed or color treated. This is not a conditioning or keratin treatment, it dives deep into the hair shaft to reconnect the disulfide bonds that have been broken to constant wear and tear. To read more about how the Olaplex System works click here. In comparison, the Olaplex treatment is like buying travel insurance when you book a flight. With this system (and proper usage of chemicals) you will not run the risk of extensive damage

Relaxer touch-ups  ~  $70*
Virgin Relaxer       ~  $95+*

All relaxer services include a trim but will now also include an Olaplex treatment. This does not add any extra time to your service as part one of the treatment is mixed into the relaxer itself and part two is applied to the ends of the hair to penetrate while a relexar touch up is being done.

*short haircut clients do not require this service and will not be charged the additional fee

Color services  ~  +$20

Color services will see an increase in price because of the extra security of the Olaplex treatment. Consider yourself insured with the inclusion of Olaplex in your color services. Not only will you get a new look with your color but now your hair will be stronger after the service than without this innovative solution.
